About Truffle

Truffle was found as a stray in Cyprus and was taken to the local pound after he was rescued from the streets. He’s a very beautiful young dog with a sociable, active and loyal nature, and he’s ready and waiting to find his forever family.

Truffle is estimated to be around two years old. He’s on the smaller side of medium, weighing around 16.5kg, and he’s a very handsome hound mix, possibly with a bit of lab. He’s super shiny and has a gorgeous coat, but is yet another victim of ‘black dog syndrome’ and is often overlooked when people come to adopt. He has an equally gorgeous personality and is very trusting and friendly around humans, so although we don’t know much about his history we’d like to think that somewhere along the way he was treated with kindness.

Truffle is a smart, well behaved dog and picks up new things quickly. He is very curious about his surroundings and likes having a good sniff of everything when out on his walks. He has also taken nicely to lead training and although he might pull out of excitement a little bit to start with this soon calms down once he gets into the rhythm of the walk. He is definitely an active dog and would be best suited to a family who can provide him with an energetic lease of life.

Truffle is friendly towards other dogs and loves to play. He would love to have the company of another resident dog in his new home, but would also be confident enough to live by himself. He would benefit from the social element of having a companion though, especially if they were equally as playful and active. Unfortunately Truffle isn’t suitable for a home with cats and will chase them, but he is lovely with children and would be suitable for a family with kids aged 5+.

Truffle’s ideal home would be based slightly outside of the city in close proximity to lots of nice walks and green spaces. He would prefer a home with direct access to a secure garden, and he’s looking for outdoorsy adopters. He would definitely benefit from a family who are prepared to do some training with him as he loves to learn and has great potential. He would make a wonderful companion in the right home and we’d love to see him blossom.

Truffle is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
