About Nada

Nada is around a year old and has only just begun to experience what life is supposed to feel like. She was rescued after being left chained outside an abandoned house in rural Bosnia with no company, no shelter, and no one to care for her. Local neighbours did what they could, bringing scraps of food and water when they passed, until eventually they reached out to a local organisation for help. Hopefully, this is now the beginning of a new chapter for Nada.

Nada is a small, lively dog at just 11kg and 30cm tall, and she’s making up for lost time! Every new walk, every greeting, every kind touch is a brand new experience, and she’s enthusiastic about it all! She has sudden bursts of energy every now and again, as if she’s suddenly remembered she’s finally free again, and she’s still a little confused that people want to show her affection and cuddle her.

Nada is naturally sociable and curious. She gets on well with other dogs and would enjoy having a playmate, but she’s also confident enough to be the only dog in the home, as long as she has regular interaction and plenty of mental stimulation. She’s learning to walk on a lead and this will get better with continued practice with the volunteers each weekend.

Because her interactions with people are still relatively new, she can come on a little strong at first, especially when she’s excited. For this reason, she’d be better suited to a home with older children who are comfortable around playful dogs and can help her continue learning boundaries through positive interaction. She’s not yet been cat tested, but that can be arranged if needed, however it’s important to note she’s definitely part hound.

Nada is looking for a home outside of the city with access to a secure garden where she can continue building confidence and enjoying her freedom. She’s a bright little soul with a wonderful personality, and although she may be small she’s full of character! With a little patience and kindness, Nada will adapt to a companion lifestyle and we think she’s going to grow into a very devoted little family friend.
