About Nancy

Nancy and Nicole were rescued from a horrendous council pound in Larnaca, Cyprus, where they had been left to rot. Nancy was in poor condition and needed some TLC to get her some weight on her bones, but now she is feeling much better and is ready to find her forever home.

Nancy is a gorgeous pointer type girl and is a medium sized dog at around 25kg. Since she arrived in the shelter her confidence has really improved and she has formed really strong bonds with the volunteers. Once she knows she is safe, she really comes out of her shell and reveals her affectionate, silly and fun-loving personality. Considering her breed, we’re still looking for a moderately active home for Nancy as she loves a good long walks or a run, but she’s not a mile a minute as some pointers can be.

Nancy walks nicely on the lead and is an obedient girl who thrives off positive reinforcement. She loves being in the company of people and is very friendly and affectionate towards everyone she meets. She is also very good with other dogs and would welcome living alongside a canine companion, although it’s not compulsory. Unfortunately she’s not suitable for a home with cats. As she does have a prey drive it would also be advisable for her to be homed without small furries as well.

Being a hound, Nancy loves an opportunity to have her nose to the ground on a walk, sniffing out all the interesting smells in the grass and the dirt. She would really love a home surrounded by nice walks and nature trails, and she would also benefit from a home with direct access to a garden. Nancy is really friendly with children, but as she can sometimes be a little bouncy we would suggest a home with kids aged 7+ would be preferable.

Nancy is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
