About Yoko
Yoko is a three year old Shih Tzu whose journey with us began after a very difficult decision was made by her family. Due to a combination of health challenges and changes to their living situation, they realised they could no longer give Yoko the life she deserved. It was a tough goodbye, but Yoko is now in a foster home and we’ve promised to help her find a new home where she’ll be cherished.
Yoko is a delightful little dog with a lovely temperament and a playful streak. She’s friendly, affectionate, and has clearly been very well cared for. She’s housetrained, walks beautifully on the lead, and absolutely loves playing with a ball. She’s so funny to watch when she gets zoomies and her silly little legs are just all over the place!
She’s good with other dogs, has no issue with cats, and has lived with children in the past. Like many dogs, she just needs a little time to get to know new people, but she warms up quickly and enjoys being part of the action. Around women, she’s immediately affectionate, cuddly, and ready to be besties, while with men, she needs a little more time to feel comfortable. She will get there though, she has lived with a male caregiver in the past and is getting used to her foster’s husband thanks to his calm, patient approach (and the distribution of plenty of treats!), so she can definitely live in a home with a man.
Yoko isn’t fussy when it comes to food and is always happy when dinner time comes around! She has a sociable personality and likes to be involved in day to day life, so she would suit a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods. She’d love a spot on the sofa and someone to curl up beside.
Yoko would thrive in a home that can offer her company, leisurely walks, and a bit of playtime each day. She’s an easygoing companion with a lovely balanced nature. Given her sweet, affectionate and charming personality, we have no doubt that she’ll quickly settle in and become a much loved member of the family.
