Cricket’s story
The truth is (believe it or not), my boyfriend was never a dog person. I know what you are thinking - he is not to be trusted. However, in his defence, he was never around dogs and had a few bad encounters with dogs growing up.
It took me a long time to persuade him. After showing him countless cute dog pictures on adoption sites and constantly badgering him, he finally gave in.
I first saw Cricket on the Underdog story over Christmas 2019 and instantly fell in love with her. To my surprise, my bf was also keen. However, he was a little nervous to adopt from abroad, knowing we would not meet Cricket until the actual pick-up date.
Eve was super understanding and helpful. She sent us lots of videos and pictures of Cricket and made sure she was the right dog for us. Eve was very honest made the adopting process painless.
Cricket arrived end of January 2020, she was 6 months old when we picked her up by a service station. She was the smallest dog in the van. Shaking while she was handed to us – my bf and I were both besotted and knew we had to give Cricket the best life.
Cricket was very nervous at first. However, as soon as we arrived home, she instantly jumped on the couch and fell asleep, as if she knew at that moment – this is going to be her forever couch/home.
Cricket settled in very quickly. With her sweet nature, she charms everyone/dog she meets. Occasionally, her diva within does come out which makes us love her even more. We can’t imagine our life without her now all thanks to Underdog international.
Lastly, I just want to mention my boyfriend now claims to love her more than anything in the world. Typical.
