Kiwi’s story

We adopted our golden boy Kiwi six months ago and he has truly changed our life. Underdog international were an incredible adoption agency to use. They were extremely communicative, supportive and thorough throughout the whole process. As you can imagine, the logistics of transporting a pooch to the UK is not the simplest of tasks, yet Eve always reassured us they would find a way to get him over to us, no matter what. Their dedication to rehoming these dogs is admirable!

When we saw Kiwi’s photo online we fell in love immediately. His easy going description of course also helped us decide, which we can confirm was all accurate. On collection he arrived full of excitement and luckily didn’t appear too stressed out by the journey which was a relief. He was extremely loving and trusting from the very first night - we basically stayed up with him the whole night trying to make him feel relaxed and safe in his new surroundings, which he took to very well. He’s a very confident boy, so marched around our house on arrival, sniffing every corner and jumping on every chair or sofa, as well as politely saying hello to his new sibling, and now best friend, Toyah the cat.

Every day is now filled with a fluffy ball of joy thats ready for a cuddle at any hour, who would not want that?! He loves other dogs which makes our walks so enjoyable, watching his happy tail parade around with his canine pals. His eagerness to please (or maybe just for treats 😉) makes positive reinforcement training and joy to work on with him. Of course with rescues you can have times which can be testing, but the love you get in return in undeniably the best and most rewarding thing. Please encourage anyone thinking of getting a dog to adopt, or at least look in to it. They are beautiful dogs that need to be given a chance!
