Timmy’s story

We were thinking of getting a dog and wanted to adopt, and then we came across Underdog International. We saw Timmy's page and saw that he was being fostered in the UK at the time, as such this gave us an opportunity to meet him before we adopted him. Timmy didn't make the best first impression as he barked and growled at us when we first met him, however his foster parents offered to meet up again in a different setting at the park. Both Timmy and us were more relaxed and glimpses of his true relaxed character came out. After some discussions we decided he would be the perfect dog for us and decided to adopt him. 

Timmy was fully house trained when we arrived and we bonded with him instantly, however the first few months he was protective of us on walks and sometimes growled at other dogs and people. This was difficult but over a few months and with lots of reassurance this has stopped and he is now a relaxed dog who enjoys walks in all environments. 

We have had Timmy for nearly two years and he now takes everything in his stride and is now a big softy. He has travelled all round the country with us, even on our honeymoon, and has settled in to our lives perfectly. One of his favourite things to do is to people watch, especially in coffee shops and pub gardens and loves a cuddle on the sofa. 

Considering the length of time, he was in kennels in Romania (seven years!) he has settled in to our home life perfectly and certainly enjoys his home comforts. Underdog were amazing during the adoption process and adopting Timmy was the best decision we ever made.
