About Adela

Adela is a bright, cheerful pup who’s so ready to find her forever home! Estimated to be around 5–6 months old, Adela was found alone and soaked through from the rain on the streets of Bosnia. Thankfully, a kind volunteer took her in and cared for her throughout her vaccinations, giving her a safe start until she was strong enough to join the shelter.

Adela is a lively, friendly and super sociable puppy. She adores being around people and other dogs, and is always on the lookout for someone to play with or snuggle up to. Full of affection and energy, she thrives on human contact and would suit a family that enjoys an active lifestyle with plenty of walks, outings and time spent outdoors. She loves her walks and is always excited to head out, but will drag her heels when she knows it’s time to head back to the kennels as she really doesn’t want to go back. She just wants to be with a family of her own.

We think Adela would be happiest in a home where she isn’t left alone for long periods and where there is plenty of opportunity for ongoing training, socialisation and exercise. She’s young enough to adapt well to living with other dogs and could make a brilliant companion for another playful resident dog. She gets on well with the other shelter pups, but is confident enough to live on her own too. She is also very good with older children who can match her enthusiasm and enjoy her playful spirit. Simply due to her young age and high energy levels, a home with very small children might not be ideal.

Adela has not yet been cat tested, but with careful introductions, it may be possible for her to live alongside cats as she’s very young and soaks up new situations like a sponge. One swipe from a cat and she’d likely submit, but being a puppy, a more confident, dog-savvy cat would probably be better as a housemate for her.

Adela could thrive equally well in a suburban, rural, or busy setting, provided she receives the exercise, stimulation and companionship she needs. She may need a little more confidence building in a more built up area, but as long as she gets plenty of reassurance from her new family we think she’ll be okay. Given her affectionate nature and eagerness to please, we believe she will make a wonderful addition to an active, loving home.

As she’s only a baby, Adela still has a lot to learn about the world, but with guidance, patience and lots of adventures ahead, she’ll grow into a loyal and happy companion.

Please note all our Bosnian dogs arrive to kennels based in Ormskirk when they get to the UK. Adopters are required to arrange collection from there.
