About Ella

Ella was brought into the shelter by the dog warden after being found as a stray. She has settled in really well since arriving and has been housed with numerous different dogs due to her adaptable and sociable nature. She is a young dog, expected to be around a year old, and is around the size of a springer spaniel.

The more we have spent time with Ella, the more we have come to recognise just how wonderful and clever she is. She has a fantastic personality and is very fun loving, cheeky and smart. She would definitely be top of the class if she was at training sessions and she has lots of potential to learn new things.

Ella absolutely adores people. She instantly tries to make friends with new people who visit the shelter and she loves being fussed over. She is very cuddly and affectionate, and loves a head massage, a paw massage, a belly rub - you name it actually, Ella is down for it! She’s worked out that if she jumps onto the top of the kennel, which not all the dogs can manage, she has a better chance of being the centre of attention and getting strokes!

Ella is very observant and will sit and watch what’s going on around her. She has quickly learned which dogs are friendly and have the same type of playful energy as she has, and which dogs don’t want to be bothered. She is respectful of giving everyone the space they need. She doesn’t appreciate it if another dog doesn’t respect her space though, and will give a little warning growl so they leave her alone. She is a good communicator and has good social skills.

At the moment Ella shares a compound with eight other dogs of various shapes and sizes. She is friendly towards all of them and causes no friction. She could live with or without a resident dog we feel - she’s confident and doesn’t depend on other dogs for company, but she does like to play now and again. However as long as she has human company, which she considers to be the best thing in the world, we think she will be just fine.

Ella is looking for a fairly active lifestyle and would benefit from a home with direct access to a garden. She would love to join in one long walks, and she definitely has the potential to become a running partner. Ella would enjoy 1-2-1 training and would definitely pick up new things quickly. She enjoys enrichment, so both physical and mental exercise will be enjoyable for her. Ella has so much love to give and would make a lovely family companion for a relatively active home based outside of the city.

Ella is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
