About Jilly

Jilly is just over a year old and is looking for her forever homes after being found as a stray in Cyprus. She’s on the smaller side of medium and is a bright, energetic young dog with a friendly and playful personality, and is already showing a lot of promise as a future family companion.

Despite her rough start, Jilly settled into shelter life quickly and had a number of different kennel mates throughout her stay that she loved to play with and helped boost their confidence. She’s brave, outgoing, and quick to get involved with whatever’s happening around her. She gets on very well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a resident dog who enjoys a lot of play and rough and tumble! She’s sociable and good natured, and while she can be full of beans, she’s also learning to be respectful of boundaries and reads other dogs well.

Jilly is very good with people and enjoys company, though she tends to feel more relaxed around women to begin with. She can be a little unsure of men at first but, and responds well to calm and gentle introductions. Once she’s comfortable, she’s affectionate and keen to be your friend. She likes to stay close and be part of the action.

Jilly is a clever, active dog who enjoys a game, racing around the garden, or following her nose, but is also happy snuggling up on the sofa for a nap. She would be best suited to a home outside of the city, with a secure garden and nearby walks to explore. Regular mental stimulation and continued training will really help too given her active little brain! She’s eager to learn and enjoys being kept busy.

Jilly could definitely be adopted into a home with other dogs and would benefit from the play and interaction, but as long as she has regular company it’s not a dealbreaker. She’s confident enough to be without a resident pup but definitely wouldn’t say no to having a friend. We think she would also be comfortable in a home with children aged 6+, and although her interactions have been somewhat limited she is a very good girl who is keen to please. We think she would be better suited to a home without cats based on her cheeky nature and hound DNA!

Jilly is still young and would benefit from structure and guidance as she grows up, but she has a great foundation already. She’s good natured, lively, and full of character. She’s a genuinely lovely dog who will make a fantastic addition to the right home.
