Volunteer overseas

Join us on an international trip and be a part of the team on the ground

Our overseas volunteer trips offer a unique opportunity to combine hands-on work with unforgettable, impactful experiences in remarkable destinations like Uganda, Kosovo, Cyprus, Romania, and beyond. Our volunteer trips are so much more than just travel, they’re a chance to lend a hand where it’s truly needed, to be part of a team making a meaningful impact on the lives of dogs and the communities that care for them.

As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting local animal shelters and educational programs. Whether you’re socialising and caring for dogs in need, assisting with shelter upkeep, or helping to deliver life-changing education to local communities, every day will bring new opportunities to make a real difference, with puppy cuddles guaranteed!

But these trips aren’t just about what you’ll give; they’re about what you’ll gain too. You’ll meet incredible like-minded people, hear their stories, and create lasting memories. Each trip is an opportunity to learn, connect, and leave a positive impact, not only on the lives of the dogs and people you’ll meet, but also on your own. Together, we’ll experience the heart and soul of rescue and educational work while discovering the beauty of each country we visit.

What our volunteers say

“I loved being around people who were as passionate about dogs as myself. It was a heart-warming experience to bring joy to people's days with the help of the Instagram followers donations [from the Shoebox Appeal]. Being at Dog Rose was eye opening to the commitment of the volunteers and made me appreciate their hard work and made me want to make a difference.”

“It was such a wonderful experience getting to know people like me who I met during this trip and was truly humbling to have direct contact with the people and animals you are trying to support. I came away from this experience feeling truly humbled, like I had gained some serious perspective and done something truly kind. Thank you Underdog ”

“It was amazing to meet so many new, amazing people on the trip, everyone was so kind and hard working. It was something that most people don’t get to experience in their lives and I’m so grateful I was able to come. It’s so eye opening to see the harsh realities of what goes on in some of these places, it’s not as impactful to see it online. When your there in real life you can really connect and empathise with the people and all of the animals”

“Loved the fact that you meet amazing people who rescue and rehome dogs but who also understand the importance of educating the next generation and helping the local community. Prevention is better than cure.”
