About Kika
Kika is a gorgeous dog who’s had a life full of bad luck unfortunately. Although she previously had a home in Cyprus, she was removed by the police following reports of neglect and was transferred into the care of a local shelter. That was three years ago, and sadly, despite her pretty face and lovely temperament, Kika has just been one of those dogs that has been overlooked time and time again.
Despite her difficult start, Kika still has a sweet nature and positive attitude, and we’re hoping her forever home is just around the corner now. She has lived a sheltered life and will need a kind, patience and understanding adopter that can give her the time she needs to adjust to a proper home environment and a companion lifestyle, but we’re confident that she will adjust once she recognises that she’s safe and secure.
Kika is a medium sized dog and a mix of hound types. She has a lovely, easygoing temperament. She’s sociable, active and always ready for a game or a walk. She has shown no behavioural issues during her time in the shelter and has consistently been described as having a great character by those who know her well. She’s also a smart little cookie and picks up basic commands quickly. She would thrive with some more training in her new home.
Kika has never lived without the company of other dogs and we therefore feel she would be happiest in a home where she has other resident dogs to play and hang out with. She’s friendly and relaxed in a group and has shown no issues when mixing with a variety of dogs at the kennel. Her playful energy and gentle manners would make her a great companion for dogs of similar temperament.
Kika would be suitable for a family with children and could live with respectful older kids, or younger children who are used to being around dogs. She would thrive in a home with access to a garden so she doesn’t feel too confined taking into consideration how the past three years of her life have been spent. Kika has spent far too long waiting for her chance and would love nothing more than a family of her own, a doggy friend or two, and the comfort of a consistent, caring home.
After years spent without anywhere to call home, she deserves a chance to settle into a proper family and enjoy the life she’s been waiting for. Hopefully, this time someone notices her!
