About Marlo
Marlo has come such a long way. When he first arrived at the shelter as a stray, Marlo was unsure and overwhelmed. He arrived frightened, with no microchip and no known history, and his quiet, nervous nature suggested a tough start to life. But since then, he’s made huge progress and has really begun to find his feet.
These days, Marlo is much more confident and comfortable in his surroundings. He has built strong bonds with the people he sees regularly and shows his playful, friendly side more and more. He’s not the same worried dog he once was, and it's been a real joy to watch him come out of his shell.
Marlo loves to play. Toys are his favourite thing, and he absolutely loves playing on his own in his kennel with rope toys, balls or chews. He loves throwing them about and rolling around to catch them again! He’s so silly and his goofy personality really comes out mid-play. His gentle, easygoing nature is still very much there, but now we’re seeing much more of his curiosity coming out, and his sense of fun!
That said, moving into a home environment will be a big change for him. It’s likely he’ll need a bit of time to adjust and may lose some of that confidence to begin with. He will need patience, kindness and consistency to help him settle in at his own pace. But we’re confident that, once he finds his feet and knows he’s safe again, he’ll thrive.
Marlo would love to live with a calm, confident resident dog to help show him the ropes. He’s very sociable with other dogs and clearly finds a lot of reassurance in their company. He could live with older, dog-savvy children who will give him space when he needs it and understand that some things may take time.
A semi-rural home with a garden would be ideal, along with a calm, predictable routine to help him build trust and feel safe. He’s getting the hang of lead walking and enjoys his outings, but in a brand new environment, he’ll need to start slowly.
Marlo is a lovely, loyal dog who has already overcome a lot. He’s shown us how much he has to give, and we’d love to see him finally get the home and happiness he so deserves.
