About Mary

Mary was found as a stray with her puppies and is among our first group of dogs to be cared for by our new partner Claire, based in France, to better prepare her for a companion lifestyle. The dogs have been getting on well in France and are now ready to find their forever homes either locally, or within the UK.

Mary is very shy and unfortunately she won’t make any significant progress until she has the opportunity to travel to a proper home. Although she has made strides with regards to her behaviour around her foster carers, she is still very suspicious around new people and because of this, none of the local adopters who have come to visit the puppies have shown any interest in her.

Mary needs a family who can give her plenty of time, space and understanding to settle in her own time. She 100% needs to be adopted into a home with at least one other dog, who can show her the ropes and help improve her confidence. She socialises extremely well with other dogs and would be lost without the presence of another canine in a new home.

Having seen Mary’s progress with her foster family we know there is promise there, and one day Mary will be an integrated member of a family, but she needs someone willing to take that chance and give her the opportunity. She has such a gentle soul but her fear stops her from enjoying the things that other dogs come to love, such as walks, cuddles and exploring new places. Mary will need consistency and routine to adapt to a new environment and the many new elements of life that being adopted will bring.

Mary is not suitable for a home with children, and needs access to a private, secure garden. Busy city life would be far too overwhelming for her and she requires a calm lifestyle, a relaxed home atmosphere, and a home based in a rural location.

Mary is currently based in France and is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.

Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog: their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
