About Penny

Penny was brought into the shelter after being found by the road with another little dog. We think the two of them might have been abandoned at the same time and for the first few days in the shelter they stuck together like glue. Now Penny’s settled into her new environment, she’s become much more sociable with the other dogs and her confidence has already improved a lot.

Penny is around two years old and has the most beautiful eyes, one blue, one brown. It was evident when she came into the shelter that she’d had puppies not too long ago, and judging by her tummy, we think she has probably had more than one litter in her young life. Other than this, she’s in very good health.

Penny is a very easygoing, adaptable and sweet natured girl. She is really friendly with other dogs, and quite submissive around them too so she never causes any problems in her little pack of kennel friends. When out on walks with the other shelter dogs she greets everyone in a friendly manner, and particularly connects with other dogs of a similar energy level to her, and she gets excited when she sees other dogs she recognises in the near distance.

Penny is very loving with people and so balanced in her temperament. She is good on the lead and walks very nicely, loves to explore, and is always gentle when meeting new people. She rarely jumps up, but she loves to nuzzle in for a cuddle when you kneel down on her level. She is such a good soul and there’s not a bad bone in her body. She would make an amazing companion without a doubt.

Penny would be best suited to a home outside of the city where it’s a little more semi-rural, surrounding by nature to explore, and with direct access to her own little garden. She can live alongside other dogs, but would adjust to being the only resident dog in the household as well given a bit of time. She has not been tested with cats, but she can live with children aged 6+.

Penny is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.

Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
