About Zoe
Little Zoe is a gentle, affectionate girl who was found alone on the streets of Bosnia. She’s around a year old and weighs just 7kg - a petite little dog with a lovely, soft nature. The volunteers at the shelter are all very taken with her, as she’s just slotted in no bother, welcomes cuddles, and has a genuinely kind temperament. She doesn’t ask for much and has a very sweet, patient nature.
Despite her uncertain start in life, Zoe has shown herself to be a calm, forgiving and loyal companion who enjoys being close to people. She’s affectionate and cuddly with those she trusts, and her quiet charm is easy to fall in love with. While she may be a little shy around new people or environments, she’s never reactive and quickly settles once she feels safe.
Zoe has been friendly and relaxed around other dogs and could happily live alongside a calm and sociable resident dog. She would also be content as the only dog in the home, as long as she has plenty of companionship from her family. Another resident dog may help her settle in a bit faster, but time, patience and understanding will be key to helping her adapt to a new home. She hasn’t been tested with cats but can be assessed on request. Given her temperament, we would expect her to be quite a gentle presence around other animals.
Zoe is sweet with children but would be better suited to a home with older kids, as sudden movements and loud noises may be overwhelming for her. A calm, predictable household where she can relax and build confidence at her own pace would suit her best. She will come out of her shell and start to show more of her personality when she’s ready, and seeing her start to find her feet will be such a rewarding experience for her new family.
Zoe would enjoy a quieter, more rural or semi-rural setting where she can enjoy walks and time outdoors without too much hustle and bustle. She doesn’t have high exercise needs but would appreciate time outside each day to explore, sniff, and enjoy her surroundings. She’d also be grateful to have access to her own little garden.
Zoe is a soft and loving dog who is just waiting for the chance to belong somewhere safe and kind. She may not be the boldest character in the world, but she has a big heart and plenty of love to give. With time and gentle reassurance, she’ll become a wonderful and devoted companion.
