About Pickle

Pickle is currently in a foster home in North London after arriving from Cyprus on the 16th June. He’s a cheerful, affectionate and sociable little pup with a friendly nature and a love of human attention. His estimated date of birth is 16.02.2025, and although he’s still very much a puppy and still navigating the world at his own pace, he’s already growing into a calm, gentle and truly loving companion.

Pickle lights up when he’s out on walks and is always keen to say hello to new people. He’s polite and curious around other dogs and often more interested in getting affection from their owners than joining in the play! He can get a little excitable on walks and sometimes jumps up to greet people, but he’s learning every day is nothing but friendly with everyone he meets.

At home, Pickle is easygoing and relaxed. He’s housetrained, has responded really well to crate training, and is very tolerant of bath time and nail trims. He loves playing with toys, especially rope toys and tennis balls, and is slowly learning how to engage with play. Although he’s not especially food motivated, he does enjoy apples and a nice chew.

Pickle’s walking manners are still a work in progress. He walks nicely when he’s focused, but can be a little stubborn and is easily distracted by scents or things to explore. If something really catches his interest, he’ll sometimes sit down and refuse to budge! The best way to get him back on track and engage with you again is by bringing a toy, as he’s very play motivated.

Pickle could live in a variety of home environments and would suit adopters who are committed to the puppy months and happy to continue his training and socialisation. Although he is only a baby and of course has puppy energy, he also knows when to chill out and relax. His fosters describe him as a delightful pup to care for. We think that Pickle could live with another friendly dog as he’s great with all dogs he meets out and about, would be fine as the only dog in the home. He’s very patient with dogs that come over to have a sniff or say hello. He’s also shown that he’s happy in both calm and busy areas, so could live in a town or city setting as long as he has access to green space nearby.

Pickle is a friendly, loving and intelligent young dog with lots of personality. He’s got so much potential and will thrive in a home where he is included and given the chance to grow into a confident and balanced companion.
