About Robin

Robin and Kuma are seeking new homes due to a significant change in family circumstances. Although they have lived together for years, they don’t require a home together and their family feels comfortable separating them. Robin is a tiny five year old mixed breed originally from China. She’s a small dog with a calm presence and a huge love of lap time. She enjoys a peaceful pace of life and would thrive in a relaxed household, preferably based outside of the city as she gets a bit stressed in busy places.

Robin is a sweet and affectionate dog once she knows you, though she can be a little shy to begin with. She prefers calm introductions and tends to warm up best to women, but after a few minutes she will usually settle and start asking for strokes and cuddles. Once she feels secure, she’s very loving, and will nudge your hand for a bit more fuss or hop onto your lap to get closer.

Robin is fully housetrained, quiet, well behaved, and is happy to spend time snoozing on the sofa between walks. Her favourite part of the day is when the brush comes out though, she absolutely adores being groomed and will sit very happily for a long pampering session!

Despite her small size, Robin is active and has plenty of stamina. She enjoys her walks but prefers to be off lead. Thankfully, she is excellent off lead, with great recall, and regularly walks freely in rural areas without issue. She’s less keen on walking on a short lead and can freeze if she feels too restricted or unsure. For this reason, she’d do best in a quiet area where she can enjoy safe, off lead time or longer-line walks with more freedom to move.

Robin is not especially interested in toys and can be a little nervous around larger or more energetic dogs. She currently lives alongside two other dogs and can play with them on occasion, though she tends to keep to herself and may be a little unsettled by dogs that are overly pushy. She could happily live with another calm, similarly sized dog but would also be very content as the only dog in the home where she can lap up all the focus and be treated like a little princess.

Robin has had some dental issues in the past and recently had several teeth removed due to dental disease. Her new home will need to continue regular dental care, including brushing, and may need to support her with softer chews going forward. Otherwise, she is in good health and manages her current lifestyle well.

Robin knows a handful of basic commands, walks nicely, and is generally easy to manage in day-to-day life. She’s not a fan of busy environments, so a calm, rural or semi-rural home would suit her best. She’d love to join someone for countryside strolls or quiet café visits, preferably from the comfort of their lap rather than under the table.

Robin would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, loving dog who enjoys gentle company and a slower pace of life. In the right home she’ll make a wonderful best friend.
