About Dora

Dora is around two years old and she’s ready to leave her uncertain beginnings behind her and find a home of her own. A family noticed Dora living outside their home a short while ago, and although they recognised she was a good natured dog, they were concerned for her wellbeing as they weren’t far from a busy road. They reached out to a local organisation for support and she was moved to safety.

Dora is a calm, obedient and affectionate dog. She walks beautifully on the lead and can also enjoy time off lead in safe areas, always returning when called. She loves being out on gentle walks and often gets to visit a local picnic site with the volunteers who make every effort to socialise the dogs to the best of their ability.

Dora would be an ideal match for a family or adopter who enjoys regular walks and a steady pace of life, but who isn't necessarily looking for a high energy companion. In her current shelter, Dora lives amongst a large group of dogs and has shown nothing but friendly, respectful behaviour towards them all. She enjoys canine company and would likely be happy sharing her home with another sociable dog. That said, she’s also independent enough to be perfectly content as the only dog, as long as she has regular human company.

Dora is equally good with people of all ages. She is calm and patient around children, never jumping up and always managing her excitement, and she genuinely enjoys being stroked and included in whatever is happening around her. She has not yet been cat tested, but given her gentle and balanced nature, we believe with careful introductions she could adapt well.

Dora would be best suited to a calm household, ideally away from the busy pace of city life. A semi rural or countryside home, with access to secure outdoor space, would suit her perfectly. She would love a family who enjoys being outdoors and spending time together, but who also appreciates quieter days spent relaxing at home.

Smart, affectionate and easy to be around, Dora is ready for her new chapter. All she needs now is a chance to be part of a family who will offer her all the love and affection she craves.

Please note all our Bosnian dogs arrive to kennels based in Ormskirk when they get to the UK. Adopters are required to arrange collection from there.
