About Blue

Blue is a three year old Cane Corso mix who is sadly looking for a new home due to a change in his family’s circumstances. His owner’s mother has developed severe dementia, and with so much upheaval at home, they can no longer give Blue the care and attention he needs. It’s a very sad situation for everyone involved, and their main priority is to make sure that Blue gets the love and security that he needs.

At 45kg, Blue is a large and powerful dog, but he is also gentle, affectionate and playful. He has a loving nature and has been very well socialised with people, including young children. He is calm and kind around them, and although he may bark to alert his family when someone new comes into the house, he quickly settles once reassured.

Blue is moderately active and while he enjoys his walks and loves to play, he is equally happy relaxing at home with his people once he has had some exercise. He is generally well behaved on the lead, although with his size and strength he will need a confident handler who can manage him if he pulls. He is housetrained, crate trained, and has shown no issues around food or toys.

With other dogs, Blue is friendly and sociable. He enjoys the opportunity to play and is usually quite submissive, never showing aggression. He has not been tested with cats, so a cat free home would be best to avoid any future upheaval.

Blue’s ideal home will be with someone who understands large breeds and can offer him both structure and affection. He will thrive in a home where he has a secure garden, regular exercise, and a routine that allows him to settle into family life. He will be best suited to an adopter with the time and confidence to walk and manage a strong dog, while also giving him the love and stimulation he needs.

Blue is a very good natured, affectionate companion who just wants to be with his people. He has so much to offer and will make a wonderful addition to the right home.
