About Nova
Nova is a gentle, affectionate girl who has captured everyone’s hearts since arriving with us. She was found as a stray in Cyprus and brought to the safety of the shelter, where it quickly became clear that she’s an exceptionally kind and loving dog. From the moment she arrived, Nova has shown a calm, gentle confidence and a natural warmth towards people that suggests she’s known love before. She trusts easily, welcomes attention and seems to believe that every person she meets is her new best friend.
Nova is an adaptable and social dog with a really balanced temperament. Around people, Nova is relaxed and friendly, never pushy but always just so thrilled to be a part of things. She enjoys a fuss and loves being in company, but she also has an independent side, content to settle quietly nearby or keep herself busy. She’s just as comfortable meeting new people as she is spending time with those she knows, and her calm, steady nature makes her easy to be around. We do however believe that Nova might not have very much experience living indoors full time, as she can get unsettled when she feels closed in - although this is improving. Her foster family have commented on how lovely natured she is with them, and are very sad to be making this decision.
Nova has lived alongside lots of other dogs in the shelter and got along really well with them. She has however shown some lead frustration since arriving in the UK and needs a little time to work on lead etiquette. She’s otherwise sociable and friendly but doesn’t depend on other dogs for reassurance, which means she could live very happily as an only dog or alongside a friendly resident pup.
Nova’s affectionate nature extends to everyone she meets, including children. She enjoys being made a fuss of and greets each new person with a furiously wagging tail. She’s such a soft girl (both in temperament and coat!) and she just seems to know how to win people over.
We feel that she would be best suited to a fairly active household, with people who enjoy spending time outdoors and would include her in their adventures. Whether that’s countryside walks, trips to the park or just pottering about in the garden, Nova would be happy to be a part of it.
Nova is ready to leave her shelter days behind and begin the next chapter of her life. She’s a beautiful, good-natured dog who will bring so much joy, companionship and loyalty to the home lucky enough to welcome her. We can’t wait to help her on her way to her new beginning.
