About Vinnie
Our beautiful boy Vinnie has been in the shelter for a whole year. He has almost been adopted locally twice, but through no fault of his own neither of the offers transpired and he’s still sat waiting for his new beginning. He’s such a gorgeous boy with a great personality and a big heart, and we know he’s going to make an amazing companion given the chance.
Vinnie is around four years old and is a hound mix. He’s not only very handsome, but also has a beautiful temperament. He is very friendly with everyone he meets, and can often have quite an unassuming nature. Among so many other big characters in the shelter, it’s no wonder that Vinnie sometimes gets overlooked.
Vinnie is friendly with other dogs and he currently shares his kennel with another male dog. The pair of them get on well and have shared their space for many months without issue. They share attention, food and treats without bickering, so we definitely feel that Vinnie could live in a home with other resident dogs. As he is also quite a confident dog though, he could be quite happy on his own too as long as he has plenty of human company.
Vinnie’s ideal home would be an active, semi-rural home with a garden. He would love the opportunity to adventure and explore with his new family, and is so ready to experience the outside world after being kennelled for such a long time. We can only imagine how much he would love long walks in the woods, chasing squirrels, getting to finally go to the beach for the first time, or hiking up hills at the weekend. He is an avid explorer and would love nothing more than to experience the great outdoors with his new family. He also walks so well on the lead.
Vinnie would be a fantastic, loyal and loving best friend. We don’t know if he’s ever had a proper home of his own before, so adapting to a companion lifestyle may be a big change for him, but we’re confident that given some time, patience and understanding he will find his feet before too long.
