About Angel

Angel’s litter arrived in the shelter when they were just one month old, after their mum was found as a stray. Unfortunately, their mum was absolutely terrified and it took a while for her to accept the shelter volunteers, but thankfully as the puppies started getting more independent and venturing out of their kennel on their own, they were much more sociable and keen to engage with people. It took a little while to work on their confidence, but they’re all doing so well and are now ready to find their new homes.

Angel by name, angel by nature. This little girl is such a gorgeous little thing with a very soft and sweet personality. Although she’s a little bit reserved and not completely trusting of new people, she’s getting braver by the day and has made tonnes of progress within the last few weeks. Initially she would run and hide from people, but now she jumps up and wriggles, happy to see you but not completely sure how to interact. She is however happy to be held and when she’s relaxed, she loves to cuddle.

Angel is great with other dogs and loves to play and snuggle with them. We think that she would be more than happy living alongside a resident dog that she can learn from and play with. She would definitely adapt more quickly with the company and guidance of another dog, but as long as her new family are prepared to go at her pace and be patient with her, she could also be adopted as the only dog.

Angel’s ideal home would be a loving family home that are looking for a young dog to raise outside of the city, who they can dedicate time to training and socialising. It doesn’t take too long for Angel to start exploring her surroundings and when she sees other dogs her tail wags a mile a minute! She does need a bit of reassurance and coaxing at times, but she is trying her hardest to be brave so this will only continue to improve.

Each of the pups will need patient, understanding families who recognise that adapting to a companion lifestyle will be a very new concept for all of them, as they’ve never lived in a home before. And as with any puppies, they will need continued socialisation, training, and plenty of company.

Angel has had some initial exposure to children and we think she would be suitable to live alongside slightly older children, as she is more reserved, but with gentle children we think she will form a lovely bond. She’s such a softie, and with a gentle, calm and loving approach she will settle in beautifully.
