About Aries
Aries is a sweet, soft boy with a darling personality and a brain like a marshmallow. He is nothing but love and would do anything to find his own family. He came into the shelter having been found as a stray in one of the nearby districts, and unsurprisingly no one came looking for him. He has now been with us since March and has become a part of the pack.
When Aries first arrived, he was very, very sad. He shared a kennel with three other puppies and he never wanted to play with them, he would just stand staring and barking out of the bars, desperate for human attention. Eventually, he started to settle in and was later moved into a larger compound, where he felt much happier once he wasn’t so contained.
Aries is so, so affectionate and absolutely loves a cuddle. He has the softest ears and these beautiful eyes that just stare into your soul. He loves to lean into you for a big hug, and he could sit and enjoy a head massage all day. He’s a great balance of snuggly best friend, and outdoorsy adventure partner.
Aries quickly makes friends with other dogs and is very non-threatening, so both males and females seem to enjoy his company. He’s very silly, playful and charming, and he’s integrated into a few different groups of dogs successfully thanks to his laidback personality. He is particularly fond of Claudia, who often gets bullied, and the pair of them like to snuggle in a kennel together in the evenings.
As he is a hound, Aries loves being outdoors, following his nose and watching the birds. Any hound lover will know that when they have something to say, everyone knows about it, and in true hound fashion Aries does have a bit of a voice on him. He’s not vocal all the time, but it’s just something to consider if you have noise sensitive neighbours.
Aries would be a great match for a family looking for a sociable, adaptable dog with lots of love to give. He would welcome a relatively active lifestyle, and will need outlets for his scenting, as all hounds do, and he would also enjoy things like scatter feeding or puzzle toys. He’d be best suited to a home outside of the city with a garden, and with plenty of company during the day. He’s going to make such a great family companion and he will repay you forever with undying loyalty, we’re certain of it.
