About Flori
Flori was rescued with his brother, abandoned in a remote, mountainous area in Cyprus, and left to find for themselves. Luckily the puppies hadn’t quite lost their trust in humans, and it didn’t take long for their friendly, cheeky personalities to start to shine through in the weeks that followed. Flori’s brother has now been adopted in Cyprus, so we’re hoping it will be his turn soon!
Flori will be four months old by the time he can travel at the end of May. He’s been very lucky to have been raised in a caring foster home, so he is very friendly, trusting and affectionate with everyone he meets. He’s sociable, always happy to greet new people, and very playful. Being surrounded by kindness over the past couple of months has really boosted his confidence and he could now happily slot into a family home.
Flori is friendly with other dogs, but would be happy enough living on his own. He enjoys canine company and loves to play, but can be a bit apprehensive of unfamiliar dogs, especially if they’re large. He is submissive if another dog tells him off, and he’s still learning about social cues and body language, but he’s doing really well for his age!
We think Flori would be happy in a home with children as he’s spent time with them before and loves any attention he’s offered. Being a puppy, he’s still teething and explores the world mouth first, so it wouldn’t be unexpected for him to be a bit mouthy for the first few months. However, he can be redirected easily with toys and vocal cues.
Flori is super smart and learns new things quickly. He’s already learned come, sit, lie down and no, as well as responding really well to crate training and house training. He will really enjoy some continued basic training as he’s eager to please, and given he is very food motivated this will really help positively reinforce good behaviours.
Flori would be a great addition for a family looking for a little explorer. As he grows, his energy levels will increase given his suspected breed mix (part Shepherd) and he’ll love spending time outdoors with his people. He loves water, loves to play with a ball or with fluffy toys he can nibble, and he just loves human company. He will make a very devoted best friend and we can’t wait to see him living his best life.
