About Buzz

After almost one year in the shelter, Buzz has finally found a foster home. He was just ten months old at the time of intake, and has now spent the same amount of time in a kennel. We never wanted shelter life to be something Buzz became accustomed to, and thankfully, slowly but surely he is settling into life in a home really steadily. He’s finally learning that he is safe and secure, and surrounded by love. Now, to find his forever home!

Buzz has seen many dogs come and go during his time in the shelter. He’s shared a kennel run with dozens of different dogs, and each time he’s been accepting, friendly, and eager to play given the opportunity. He was a very frightened boy when he first arrived with us, but he’s a completely different dog now and has grown so much in confidence and social skills. The volunteers loved taking him out for walks at the weekend, and he relishes any opportunity to be fussed over!

Buzz is now fully grown and on the slightly smaller side of medium. He now boasts a lovely soft, shiny coat, and ever wagging tail. He can be a little shy with new people, but a gentle approach really helps. He’s picked up lead training really nicely and can walk beautifully on the lead when he’s calm and focused. He’s keen to please, and despite having limited opportunities to learn over the past year due to the shelter setting, he’s still really embraced any chance he’s had. Imagine how well he’d do with some proper training!

Buzz has been great with other dogs ever since he arrived, and we think that he would enjoy a home with another resident dog to befriend and learn from. However, as long as he’s given the time and patience to adapt at his own speed, he could be adopted as the only dog. He craves attention and social interaction, so as long as he has plenty of companionship from his new family, he’ll be happy. We don’t know if Buzz has ever had the opportunity to live in a proper home before though, so naturally, this will be a period of adjustment for him.

Buzz would be happiest in a home outside of the city with a moderately active lifestyle, a little garden to mosey about in, and lots of lovely surrounding places to explore. He’s a clever, loyal breed mix, and we expect that he will really flourish once he finds his forever home. He’s a genuine sweetheart with lots of love to give, he just needs to find where he belongs.
