About Charly

Charly was brought into the shelter in Cyprus by the dog warden after being found as a stray, quite heartbreakingly wearing a bandana with his name on it. Despite this, he wasn’t microchipped and no one ever came looking for him. It’s impossible to know where he came from, but based on his lovely nature, we're sure wherever he came from, he was previously treated with kindness which has contributed to his trust in new people.

Charly is a lovely boy with a very sociable, patient and easy going personality. He has settled into shelter life without any complaints and takes everything in his stride. He’s quietly confident, adaptable and affectionate, and he really enjoys being around people. His trusting nature and gentle manners make him a firm favourite with the shelter volunteers, and whoever he’s spending time with he just always seems genuinely delighted to be given some fuss.

Charly is great with people and confident around strangers too. He’s friendly with everyone he meets and is always happy to soak up attention. He has a calm, patient way about him, but he also won’t miss any opportunity to lean in for a snuggle or sit proudly for a treat! He doesn’t push other dogs out of the way for attention and shares focus nicely, so he’s also very polite!

He also gets on well with other dogs and has shared his kennel with both males and females since arriving at the shelter. He’s been friendly and relaxed with them all, but we do feel he would also be perfectly happy living as the only dog in a home, as long as he has enough company throughout the day.

Charly is a soft, gentle boy and we think he would be well suited to a home with children. He hasn’t been cat tested, so any introduction to cats would need to be done carefully and with guidance. While he could potentially cope with city living, we feel he would be happiest in a home outside of the city with access to a garden and a moderately active lifestyle.

Charly is so keen to get out of his kennel to run, play and explore, but we know he'll be equally as happy to snuggle up on the sofa with his new humans too. Charly is an affectionate, adaptable and genuinely lovely dog who will make a wonderful companion for the lucky family who gives him the home he’s been waiting for.
