About Dias

Poor Dias has experienced a lot of instability in his short life. He was recently found waiting outside someone’s front door in the mountains of Cyprus, and after a little bit of searching, surprisingly his former owners were actually found. It transpired that his family had given Dias to a relative when they no longer wanted him, and he was left to live outside in their yard. With little stimulation or security, he’d started to wander off during the day, eventually travelling so far that he became lost. Unable to offer him a safe or stable future, they surrendered Dias to the shelter so we could find him a new home.

Despite his unsettled start in life, Dias is a fun-loving, energetic young dog with so much love to give. He is full of enthusiasm and is always thrilled about everything. He is playful, bouncy and a little bit goofy, and he absolutely loves being around people. Dias has a huge heart and genuinely seems delighted by everything and everyone he meets.

Dias is great with people and is very friendly, but he can be over excitable at times. He has never had consistent training in his previous homes, so he is still learning his manners and will benefit from some basic lead work and ongoing guidance. The good news is that he is incredibly eager to please and responds well to positive reinforcement. With patience, consistency and kindness (and plenty of treats!), Dias will thrive and grow into a wonderful companion.

Dias gets on well with other dogs and currently shares his kennel with two females. They keep him in check and he listens to their cues, even if his playful nature sometimes gets the better of him. Dias enjoys canine company but is also confident enough to live as the only dog in a home, provided his social and exercise needs are met.

Due to his size and bouncy energy, we feel Dias would be best suited to a home with children aged 8+, unless younger children are very dog savvy. He would love an active home that enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring and going on adventures together. A home with access to a garden would be ideal, and while he could cope in a more urban setting, we feel he may be happiest in a quieter or more rural environment where he has space to burn off energy.

Dias has had a turbulent couple of years and is now looking for stability, structure and someone who will truly commit to him. In return we just know that he will offer boundless affection, loyalty and fun. He is a young dog with so much potential, and with the right guidance he is going to make an incredible companion for an active, loving family.
