About Forest
Forest was brought into the shelter in Cyprus as a stray by the dog warden, but everything about him suggests he once belonged to someone. Sadly, he arrived with no collar or microchip and no one came looking for him, but he has settled into shelter life surprisingly well and has quickly won over everyone he meets.
Forest is a true gentleman of a dog. He has the sweetest, most easy going nature and such a cheerful little face and ever wagging tail. He is polite, asks for very little and just happy to be involved. He’s often just content to observe rather than be at the centre of attention. He has adapted well to the shelter environment and is so unassuming that staff often say you barely know he is there. His calm and steady temperament make him very easy to be around, even for those not super confident around dogs.
Forest is wonderful with people and has charmed staff and volunteers alike. He is easy to handle, walks beautifully on the lead and his good manners mean he’s an easy choice for less experienced visitors to take out for a walk on volunteering days. He is gentle around children too, though we think very young or noisy households may feel a little overwhelming for him.
Forest also gets on well with other dogs. He shares his kennel with both males and females and has shown no issues at all, fitting in quietly and respectfully. That said, he is confident (albeit it quietly so) enough to live happily as the only dog in a home, as long as he has companionship and affection from his family.
We feel Forest would be happiest in a calm, peaceful home, ideally in a quieter or more rural setting. He would love a garden where he can potter about and enjoy the occasional UK sunshine, along with a comfy bed and plenty of fuss. While he is perfectly content with a relaxed lifestyle, he would also happily embrace more activity if given the opportunity. Above all, Forest is simply looking for someone to share his days with. He is kind, gentle and very lovable, and will make a devoted best friend to the lucky person who takes him home.
