About Mimi

Mimi was found as a stray in Cyprus and brought into the shelter with two very young puppies of her own. Not long after arriving, more unweaned puppies were rescued and needed urgent care. Mimi stepped in without any hesitation, accepting thirteen additional puppies and raising them alongside her own! She proved to be an exceptional mother, patient, attentive and so, so caring, and it quickly became clear just how special she is.

As a Shepherd mix, Mimi is an intelligent and observant dog who takes in everything around her. She enjoys being outdoors and would happily spend time outside exploring, but she is equally drawn to people and seeks out affection whenever she can. She has a steady energy level and would suit an active home that enjoys walks, time outside and shared adventures, without needing constant high intensity activity.

Mimi is wonderful with people and has always been friendly and trusting, even during the demanding period when she was caring for so many puppies. She seems to understand when someone is there to help and is always calm, warm and welcomes affection from people. Her gentle nature makes her very easy to be around.

Mimi is good with other dogs and since the puppies got a little older, she’s been sharing her kennel with both male and female dogs, settling in without issue. Unsurprisingly, she is exceptional with puppies, but she is also sociable and relaxed with adult dogs. That said, we feel that she is confident enough to live as the only dog in a home, as long as she has companionship and interaction with her people.

Mimi is good with children and as she’s so motherly and gentle we do think she would be happy in a home with kids. Due to her breed type, we think she would be happiest in a quieter setting, ideally on the outskirts of town or in a more rural area. A home with access to a garden and nearby green spaces would suit her perfectly, rather than a busy city home.

Mimi is a loyal, capable and special girl who has given so much to others whilst she’s been in the shelter. Now it’s her turn to be looked after, and we know she’s going to make such an amazing companion to one lucky family out there!
