About Nugget

This absolute stunner is Nugget, and he was found as a stray in Cyprus before being brought into the shelter by the dog warden. He had no microchip or collar, but he arrived in good condition, so it is likely he had known a home at some point. Since arriving, he has settled in well and has quickly become a firm favourite with volunteers, so he’s lucky enough to get regular weekend walks and extra cuddles on volunteering days.

Nugget is a striking young dog with a strong, muscly build, but beneath that solid exterior is a genuinely sweet and gentle boy. He adores people and thrives on human interaction, so he always greets everyone with enthusiasm and excitement. He can be a little bouncy when he first meets someone, simply because he is so happy to engage, but he responds really well to positive reinforcement and learns quickly. With a bit of ongoing guidance, his manners will continue to improve as he matures.

Nugget is friendly and relaxed around other dogs and has shared kennel space with a variety of males and females since arriving at the shelter. He enjoys their company and copes well in a group setting, but he is also confident enough to live as the only dog in a home, provided he has plenty of interaction, exercise and enrichment. He’s shown that he can get along with a lot of different types of dogs and can adapt his behaviour to suit different personalities, which is a really valuable trait for a young dog.

Nugget is good with children, though due to his size and energy we would suggest a home with older children, ideally aged 8+, unless they’re dog-savvy and have lived with larger dogs beforehand.

As a young dog of a similar size to a Labrador, Nugget is looking for an active home that enjoys getting out and about. He would suit someone who is confident with slightly larger dogs and keen to continue his training while giving him plenty of opportunities to burn off energy. While he could cope with city living, he would ideally have access to a garden and would likely be happiest in a home a little outside the busiest areas, surrounded by lovely places to walk and explore.

Nugget is a loving, loyal and people focused dog who has so much to offer the right home. He is still young, eager to learn and ready to build a strong bond with a family who can give him the time, structure and affection he deserves.
