About Jordan

Super shiny, super sleek, this gorgeous boy is Jordan He arrived at the shelter along with two other pointers, all of whom were found roaming as strays at the end of the hunting season. The three of them are happy in each other’s company, and now they share a kennel together. As their individual personalities have emerged we’ve been getting to know them, and now we would love to find each of them their perfect forever home.

Jordan is around three years old and such a nice boy! Unfortunately, we don’t think that Jordan has experienced the kindest treatment throughout his life, and it has meant that it’s taken us a little more time to convince him that we’re to be trusted. He has however responded so well to reassurance and kindness, and is now much more confident and sociable. He now really likes going out for little walks with the shelter volunteers, and he always looks to them for a bit of guidance or a cuddle.

Around other dogs, Jordan is really friendly. He is a bit of a goon and loves to play, but he’s also friendly and gentle, especially when meeting new dogs. He is good with both males and females, and we definitely think that he would really enjoy a home where he had another resident dog to learn from and play with. Having another dog to observe and learn from will allow Jordan to adapt at his own pace, and with someone to look up to, to boost his confidence.

Jordan would be best suited to a semi-rural home where he’s surrounded by lots of places to explore. Being a pointer, he loves to follow his nose and he’s always curious about his surroundings. He would also be best suited to a home with a garden, as it’s likely that he has spent the vast majority of his life living outdoors in some capacity. A garden will provide Jordan with a safe outdoor space where he can acclimatise to living indoors little by little.

Jordan has already started to show us that when he trusts someone he is super affectionate and sweet, and given proper time to bond with a new family we know that he is going to develop a really strong, loyal connection with them. Pointers are such fantastic companions and given the opportunity to settle into a secure and loving environment, we know Jordan will really blossom in confidence.
