About Jessie

Jessie’s litter arrived in the shelter when they were just one month old, after their mum was found as a stray. Unfortunately, their mum was absolutely terrified and it took a while for her to accept the shelter volunteers, but thankfully as the puppies started getting more independent and venturing out of their kennel on their own, they were much more sociable and keen to engage with people. It took a little while to work on their confidence, but they’re all doing so well and are now ready to find their new homes. Jessie is now in a foster home in London, and ready to find her new forever family.

Jessie was the most confident of her siblings right from day one, and has adapted to her life in the UK really smoothly. She is the most wonderful, cheeky, sweet natured and loving dog according to her foster family, and they will miss her when she finds her new home! She’s brave, inquisitive and playful, and would make a great addition to a family home looking for a young dog full of fun and personality.

Jessie is fantastic with other dogs and loves their company. At present, she shares her foster home with a resident male, adult Rottweiler, and she adores him. He is very tolerant of her silly nature and boisterous play style, and she would be great with a dog that can match her energy at home. With unknown dogs on walks and in the park she is more reserved and watches them before she approaches, but once she’s made friends she loves nothing more than a bit of rough and tumble.

Since arriving, Jessie’s foster family have used a crate to help her settle and she has responded really well to it, sleeping soundly overnight without any issues. She can also be left at home for around an hour without issue. She’s not worried about unknown noises inside or outside of the house, and she is quietly confidently, observant and curious about everything around her. Having another dog has also given her additional reassurance and guidance, especially in unfamiliar situations, so we think she would probably prefer a home with a playmate if possible.

Being a puppy, Jessie is still a bit go a chewer but responds really well to being redirected with chews. She loves to play with toys, especially tug or chasing after a ball, her silly little puppy legs going at all angles! Given her playful, energetic nature, we think Jessie would be happiest in a home with a garden, but could remain in London as she has adapted to the sights, smells and sounds extremely well thanks to her foster family doing lots of socialisation and environmental exposure.

Jessie is also great with everyone she meets, and despite her bouncy nature, she knows to be gentle with children upon meeting them. She can be patient and tolerant with them as they get to know her, but we’re sure that in a home with children she’d soon see them as her new best friends and be very playful and excitable with them! She’s going to bring so much joy into her new home and we can’t wait to see her flourish!
