About Jessie

Jessie’s litter arrived in the shelter when they were just one month old, after their mum was found as a stray. Unfortunately, their mum was absolutely terrified and it took a while for her to accept the shelter volunteers, but thankfully as the puppies started getting more independent and venturing out of their kennel on their own, they were much more sociable and keen to engage with people. It took a little while to work on their confidence, but they’re all doing so well and are now ready to find their new homes.

Jessie is the most confident of her siblings and she’s always the first to lead the way for her brothers and sisters. She’s brave, inquisitive and playful, and she’s the most likely to investigate a new environment or unfamiliar toy first. She is friendly, silly and affectionate, and once she’s made friends with you she really loves your company. She’s eager to interact with new people and given a little time to adjust, we think she will absolutely shine in a new home.

Jessie is playful and friendly with other dogs, and would be more than happy living alongside a resident dog that she can learn from and play with. We also feel that she would be confident enough to be the only dog at home, and although it might take her a little longer to adapt, with patience and understanding she will be okay.

Jessie’s ideal home would be a loving family home that are looking for a young dog to raise outside of the city, who they can dedicate time to training and socialising. Her balanced temperament at her young age is really promising and we think she’s going to grow into an amazing dog with a very human oriented nature.

Each of the pups will need patient, understanding families who recognise that adapting to a companion lifestyle will be a very new concept for all of them, as they’ve never lived in a home before. And as with any puppies, they will need continued socialisation, training, and plenty of company.

Jessie has had some initial exposure to children and we think she would be suitable to live alongside slightly older children, as she can still sometimes be a little skittish, but she really does enjoy the attention. She loves to play with anything that squeaks, chew on a rope toy or lollop after a ball, and she would be best suited to a moderately active lifestyle.
