About Sammy
Sammy has recently arrived in the UK as a foster after he was found as a stray in Cyprus. He’s a young, happy and affectionate puppy, and he’s adjusting to a companion lifestyle in Salisbury really well for such a short space of time. He’s a confident, playful and curious little dog who loves meeting new people, exploring the world around him and soaking up as much attention as he can possibly get!
Being a pup, Sammy is full of energy and enthusiasm. He loves his toys, belly rubs and a good run around the park, and he’s never short of affection for the people he meets. He’s a confident little boy and always greets new faces with a wagging tail, and he’s quick to roll over for a tummy rub from anyone who’ll offer one! His foster mum describes him as a complete love bug with a goofy, endearing personality that’s impossible not to fall for.
Sammy is very sociable and enjoys playing with other dogs, though he can sometimes bark at them when he’s unsure. He’s also very comfortable around children and particularly enjoys playing with his foster carer’s young niece. Given his sociable, adaptable and playful nature, we think he’d make a lovely addition to a family home.
As he’s still young, Sammy is learning the basics and will require the attention and training any other puppy would. His housetraining is improving quickly, and he’s getting used to life on the lead/harness. He’s happiest on a long line where he can run and explore, and he’s learning to associate the lead with the excitement of heading out for an adventure. He’s food motivated and eager to please, which makes training both enjoyable and rewarding for all involved!
At home, Sammy is affectionate, cuddly and curious. He loves company and wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing, whether that’s pottering in the garden, watching tv or ‘helping’ in the kitchen. Like most puppies, he’s still learning what he can and can’t chew, but with time, consistency and the right enrichment, he’s making great progress.
Sammy would suit a home where he can get plenty of attention, activity and positive guidance as he continues to grow and learn. He could happily live with another friendly dog (he is currently living alongside a resident female dog) or be the centre of attention as the only dog in the household. What matters most to Sammy is being surrounded by kindness, feeling secure and enjoying lots of fun and adventures.
