About Benjo
Benjo is a young Poodle type mix who was found scavenging for food near a rubbish site in a small town in Bosnia. Fortunately, a kind passerby noticed him and reached out for help, and Benjo has since been in the care of our partners, preparing for his fresh start which we hope it just around the corner for him.
Benjo is a lovely, social dog with a naturally confident temperament. From day one he has shown himself to be affectionate, easygoing, and happy to meet new people. He walks well on the lead and takes everything in his stride, so he would be a great match for someone looking for a slightly more adaptable dog.
Benjo is currently living alongside a group of around fifteen other dogs and handles the group setting well despite it being so busy. He mixes confidently with dogs of all shapes and sizes and would be happy either as the only dog in the home or sharing his space with another friendly pup. Benjo is also good with children and has behaved really nicely around younger volunteers, so could join a family with kids.
It’s important to remember that Benjo is still young and would benefit from continued training and structure in his new home. His confidence and willingness to engage set him up to be a quick learner, so it would be a shame not to engage in some training. His sociable nature also means he will likely enjoy being included in day-to-day life, not left at home alone for long periods of time. Also, typical of his breed mix, his fur will need some regular grooming.
Benjo would be suited to a variety of home environments and could adapt well to a city or suburban setting, provided he receives enough outdoor time and stimulation. Equally, he would be just as happy in a countryside home with space to explore. What matters most is that his new family can offer him companionship, consistency and the opportunity to be part of a loving home. He’s smart, super loving, and full of fun - anyone would be lucky to welcome him into their family!
Please note all our Bosnian dogs arrive to kennels based in Ormskirk when they get to the UK. Adopters are required to arrange collection from there.
