About Benji
Little Benji spent months living on the streets in a small town in Bosnia before being rescued by a local volunteer, who managed to find him a shelter space. Benji would likely have otherwise been captured by the dog warden and ended up in a public shelter, where his fate may have been very different.
Now settled into the shelter, Benji is charming everyone he meets. He’s an adorable little guy with a big personality and a strong desire to make friends. He’s gentle, friendly and warm, but also quietly confident, sociable and silly. He’s a very happy soul and loves being in the company of both people and other dogs.
Benji is only a little boy, weighing around 10kg. He’s easy to handle, loves a snuggle, and also walks very nicely on the lead. He loves going out for walks with the volunteers, and any opportunity to interact with people, he’s happy! He is also very sociable with the other shelter dogs and has good manners when getting to know them. He reads body language well and just wants to be pals.
Benji is looking for a home where he has plenty of attention and won’t be left for long periods of time. He would love a family who involve him in their daily routine, as he’s more than happy to accompany you anywhere and everywhere. Although he’s a small dog he would still welcome a moderately active lifestyle, and a little garden to potter about in would be ideal, as he’s always had direct outdoor access. Benji can live with other dogs, but he would also be comfortable on his own as long as he has plenty of humans company.
Benji has been gently exposed to cats and was calm and observant, so we think he would be fine in a home with dog-savvy cats who are confident. He is also great with children and loves being fussed over by them.
Benji’s only a small boy, but he has loads of love to give and in a secure, loving home we’re certain that he’s going to become a brilliant companion. He doesn’t ask for much and as long as he is surrounded by people who dote on him, he’s happy!
