About Mila
Mila was rescued from the streets of Bosnia earlier this year and is now settling into a foster home in Norwich where she is doing really well. She is a sweet, affectionate and gentle little girl who loves being around people and would make an amazing little companion.
Mila is just over a year old and is on the smaller side of medium. Despite not having the kindest start to life, she is always excited to spend time with people and is a very forgiving and resilient little pup. She has never been anything but affectionate and friendly towards everyone she has met, and she would make such a loyal little friend. She is gentle with children and absolutely loves to be fussed over by them.
Although Mila currently lives as the only resident dog, she could definitely live alongside other canine companions. She was wonderful with the other dogs at the shelter in Bosnia, and she is polite and submissive when meeting new dogs out on walks. Another dog would likely boost her confidence in a new environment, but isn’t compulsory for her to thrive.
Mila has coped well with lots of change in a short space of time, but still needs a little more time to properly adapt and gain more confidence. She is a little bit anxious, and her foster family have been taking her integration at her own pace so as not to rush her, which has been the perfect approach as she really trusts them now.
Quite typical of Bosnian rescues, Mila is exploring the house very slowly and has found comfort in spending most of her time in the living room. She settles well on her bed during the day and is happy and content to spend time on her own while people potter around the house. She also sleeps soundly overnight, curled up with her blankets and teddies.
Mila loves her food, snuggles on the sofa, cuddly toys, a tennis ball, and spending time outdoors. She is very comfortable outside and we are definitely looking for a home with direct access to a garden for her. She’s a bit unsure about the car and needs lifting in, and she’s also not very comfortable around cats. She is good on walks and walks nicely on the lead without pulling, but prefers quieter areas so she would best suit a semi-rural area or quiet residential location to call home. She also loves to sniff and follow her nose!
Mila has settled into her foster home so well and already shown so many positive traits and great progress. She responds so well to cuddles, reassurance and routine, and is already completed housetrained. We can only imagine the sweet, bubbly, confident little pup she will be a few months from now in the right home, and we know she will make someone so happy!
