About Buffy

Buffy arrived in the shelter in March after she was found all alone in an industrial area. She is now around seven months old and has grown into such a beautiful young dog while she’s been with us. She’s thought to be a Labrador/Pointer mix, and she’s a very friendly, gentle and smart girl.

Buffy shares her kennel with four other dogs, males and females, and she has learned to share without any issues. She is one of the quieter members of the pack and mixes into the group really seamlessly. She likes to play, and she’s always eager to engage with new people or sit beautifully for a treat, but she’s not into rough and tumble play or bossing the others around. She prefers to just blend in.

Buffy is clever, calm and enjoys the outdoors. She interacts with other dogs really well and would be quite happy in a home alongside another resident dog. She has the potential to pick up training really quickly, as sh’s food motivated so treats are the perfect reward. She has also had some basic lead training which she’s responded well to, and she is quietly confident around new people.

Buffy doesn’t have that much exposure to young children, but we think she’d be quite happy in a home with school aged kids who are more predictable and can respect her space and boundaries when needed. She loves fuss from people, so gentle children would be perfect for her.

We think that the ideal home for Buffy would be outside of the city, as she’s not super confident around lots of busy noise or cars, in a moderately active home with access to a garden. She’s a very happy, charming and fun loving pup, and she will grow into such a loyal best friend in a new home. Being part pointer, she will love opportunities to follow her nose on long walks, sniff about in the grass, and enjoy some off lead opportunities in secure areas. She’s such a lovely girl and we can’t wait to see what awaits her!
