About Charlie

Handsome Charlie is currently in the care of our shelter partners in Cyprus after being found as a stray without a microchip. He’s estimated to be just over two years old, weighing around 30kg and standing at 68cm at the shoulder. Although he is a bigger pup, Charlie is an easygoing and well-mannered boy who has made a great impression on everyone he’s met so far. Did we mention that he’s also very handsome?

After spending a year in the pound, Charlie was lucky enough to be offered a foster home locally within Cyprus, where he has settled in so beautifully. He lives alongside other dogs, he loves being part of the action and he’s a sucker for a snuggle. He’s also very keen to learn and has picked up basic commands with ease. It definitely helps that he is food motivated!

Charlie has such a balanced, sociable nature, that he was actually the poster boy for the pound at an event recently. He attended the event and was more than happy on the stage during the presentation. He takes everything in his stride and is very observant and adaptable.

Charlie is very people focused and enjoys human company. He’s calm, friendly and easily handled, which at 30kg is very handy! He walks nicely on the lead, has a responsive nature, and loves any opportunity to be included. He’s very eager to please and looks so proud when you tell him that he’s a good boy. He particularly enjoys splashing about in water, and we think he’d enjoy trips to the beach or countryside walks with his future family.

Charlie is sociable with other dogs and gets along well with females and non-dominant males. He’s not suitable to live with cats, but he could live happily alongside a friendly, balanced dog of similar temperament. We also think that he would do well in a family environment with children, although younger children may find his size a little overwhelming.

Charlie’s behaviour during his time in our care has been consistently good. He hasn’t shown any concerning traits and has a steady, balanced nature. This lovely boy is looking for an active home, ideally with access to a secure garden and regular opportunities for exercise and enrichment. Charlie is friendly, affectionate, silly and loyal. With a consistent routine and a family eager to include him in their day to day, we know he will settle beautifully into a home and become a devoted and loving companion.
