About Sandy
Meet The Nightmare Before Christmas puppies! Sandy Claws is the baby of the bunch, full of spark, sweetness and a touch of mischief. She and her siblings were rescued from an overcrowded council pound in Cyprus, where they were at risk of being put to sleep. Thankfully, a local shelter stepped in just in time and the puppies were brought to safety. Since then, they have grown into healthy, happy young dogs, and now they’re ready for their next chapter.
Sandy is a lively, affectionate pup with a big personality packed into a small frame. She is playful, expressive and always keen to be part of whatever is going on, whether that’s a game with her littermates or following the shelter team around for cuddles and attention. She is very social and loves the company of people and dogs alike, though she can be a little cautious with sudden movements or loud noises. Once she feels safe, her confidence shines as she becomes all wags, wiggles and kisses.
She is a clever girl and, typical of those greedy Lab genes, very food motivated. Training her will be great fun as she is eager to please and quick to pick things up. Sandy is also lovely with people and she loves being close, especially when you are down at her level where she feels most comfortable. She needs a little gentle handling and reassurance, as she is still learning that hands are for strokes and treats, not anything to fear.
Around other dogs, Sandy is such a good girl and a great friend! She reads social cues well, adapts easily to different personalities and enjoys both play and downtime with her siblings. She would really benefit from having another friendly dog in her new home, someone to show her the ropes and boost her confidence as she settles into family life.
Sandy would be happiest in a calm, semi rural home with access to a garden where she can play safely and unwind. She would suit a household with patient adopters who can guide her at her own pace, helping her build trust and continue blossoming into the confident, loving companion she is meant to be.
Sandy is an absolute gem. She may start off a little shy, but once she knows she is home, she will give her whole heart in return and bring heaps of warmth, laughter and love to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her.
