About Brock

Drop dead gorgeous Brock arrived at the shelter a couple of months ago after the dog warden brought him in as a stray. We were assuming someone would come and collect him, as he was in great health and was so happy around people, but sadly days turned into weeks and no one came to get him. Brock is now searching for a new home where he can be treated like the prince he truly is!

Brock is estimated to be around two years old and definitely has some kind of hound in him among various other breeds - he’s a real mixed bag but so handsome. He has stunning markings which look very Bracque, and he is also very people oriented and clever. He is keen to please and loves to impress people. He learned a gorgeous sit in just a few tries and now sits beautifully waiting for a treat in his kennel.

Brock would be best suited to a home where he’s the centre of attention. Since being in the shelter he has been fine with female dogs, but he is more picky with male dogs and doesn’t really like to share his space with them. With this in mind he would also be better suited to a family that have experience of owning dogs before, just so they feel comfortable managing interactions. With people though, Brock is an absolute superstar and just adores everyone.

Brock would be happy in a home with a fairly active lifestyle and someone who wants to work a bit more on his training. As he’s clever, he really enjoys learning and benefits from some focus and direction. He also has potential to enjoy scent training, as he loves to use his nose like - typical hound! He would also prefer a home with access to a nice garden.

Brock would be great with children and he loves any kind of attention. He can be bouncy and excitable, so with that in mind children aged 8+ are probably more appropriate.

Brock would make an amazing adventure companion and would love to opportunity to spend lots of time outdoors. He has plenty of stamina, and would relish the opportunity to become the apple of someone’s eye. He is very loyal and loving, and as long as someone is comfortable with him not being the best of friends with every single dog he meets, he could absolutely shine in the right forever home.
